Oxfordshire indoor SportsHall

League summary

Five competitions each year during the winter months for athletes in the U9 – U15 age groups. Minimum age for competition in the league is 8 years on the day of competition.
The aim of the league is to introduce children into athletics and for them to enjoy the experience as much as possible. It is fun for the athletes! There are various running events that use the ‘rebound board’. Other events (depending on the age group) include standing long jump and triple jump, vertical jump, javelin, chest push, shot put and speed bounce (jumping as many times as possible in an allotted time, over a small wedge with a two footed landing). There are also various relay races which include 4 x 1 lap, 4 x 2 lap, the paarlauf and obstacle race.

END OF SEASON REPORT – INDOOR SPORTS HALL 2025/26

We had the last of the Indoor sports hall competitions earlier this month in Bicester. Despite having low turnouts at the competitions the individual achievements have been fantastic. We have also had some great performance from those who have competed for the first time this season.

Well done to the athletes who have competed at all five competitions:

Esi, Luke, Maame and Oscar (there were lots of you who competed at four out of five – thank you for your support).

Many congratulations and well done to Maame who achieved the overall U13 girls Gold individual medal and Oscar who received the overall U11 boys Silver individual medal.

Well done to those athletes who were picked for the Inter Counties indoor sports hall team and took part at Burgess Hill at the beginning of March: Oscar, Autumn, Charlotte (picked but couldn’t take part), Luke, Max and Darcey.

Special thanks to all the athletes who have taken part and supported us over the season – their great camaraderie has been infectious! Thank you to all parents for your support and especially to those who have helped with officiating, etc, it is very much appreciated.

Now looking forward to the outdoor season!

Many thanks to you all.
