London Marathon Fundraiser

Many congratulations to John Rice who ran the London Marathon last Sunday in a Radley vest and broke his target time of 4 hours by running the 26.2 miles in 3:54.58.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored him; he was raising funds for the Club to help replace and purchase new equipment which will enable us to support our athletes to reach their full potential.

Oxon Junior League results M1 - 14 April 2019

Radley's new tent had its first outing last Sunday at the first Oxon League match of the season at Horspath.  It was a very welcome shelter from the bitterly cold wind that blew across the track throughout the day.

Thank you to all the athletes who took part, and to their parents and coaches who came and supported them. Also to all our officials who always do a great job running the events we get assigned.

Radley Open Meeting 2019 – Lane draws

This heat and lane draw has now been passed to the photo-finish team, and therefore will not be changed except in exceptional circumstances. Races have been seeded on the basis of submitted times. Where no time was submitted, the athlete has been placed in slower races.

Please ensure that you arrive at the start at least 10 minutes before the advertised start time of your race. Late arrivals may miss their race.

Oxon XC League 2018/9 - Henley Showground

With Storm Freya bearing down, the course designers tried hard to please the weather gods, with offerings of lactic acid and muscle cramps courtesy of a deceptive ascent from the start to ‘A’, an in-your-face climb from 'B' to 'H', a stone path that had the 'long spikes vs. short spikes vs. trail shoes' debate going all morning, and an array of rabbit holes on the run-in that would not have looked out of place in Watership Down.

Superb Silver Medal For Elly Hind

Elly Hind represented Radley at the England Athletics Indoor Combined Events Championships in Sheffield on 10 March. This was a high quality competition with the best 50 combined event athletes in England. She started the day with a near PB of 9.40s in the 60m hurdles and went on to 5.10m in the long jump. Shot came next, and a PB of 8.07. High jump followed and after three attempts at 1.68m and 12 jumps in total, she finished with 7cm PB of 1.65m. That puts her second in the current UK rankings.
