Radley AC travelled to Walton for their first SAL fixture of the 2018 season.
The weather was usually kind for the time of year and Radley took great advantage of the conditions to shine along with the sun.
Lots of great performances, including a number of personal bests saw Radley win the match convincingly by 17 points.
Outstanding performances of the day came from Ana Ramos-Vilaverde (W40) who got two huge pbs - firstly in 400mH (a 5 second improvement) and then in the 2K S/C where she improved her time by an amazing 10 seconds both gaining the team great points. At the other end of the age scale, 16 year old Sam Nelson also had 2 personal bests in 400m (51.6) and 200m (23.8) he also anchored the mens 4x4 team to a good second with a 51.1 split time. Other pbs came from Faith Brew in 400m (58.0), Emma Haley in 3K (10.40.1), Rachel Burton in S/C 7.50.4 and discus (26.30m), Alex Miell Ingram in 5K (16.09.4) and Brett Halsey in LJ (5.90m).
As usual a great team effort ensured most events were filled amassing good points and the first win of the season. With a few athletes making their debut into the senior team.
Radley are hoping to replicate that result in their next fixture in May but are also looking for new members aged 17 and above to help support their team efforts as the season progresses.
Attached are the full team results.
