Radley enjoyed a fantastic turnout for the 2019 Oxfordshire Cross-Country Championships in early January which as usual were combined with the third race in the Oxon XC League series. Horspath was accommodatingly muddy, but the rain held off as the Radley tent and flag were amongst the first to go up, a good omen for the day's races. In the Boys events, purple vests dominated the podium places with a healthy cohort of participants throughout the finishing order.
Thank you to all those athletes and parents who attended the third round Sportshall competition last Sunday in Witney.
It was a great afternoon of competition and it was really nice to see so many U15s and U13s taking part. Everyone put 100% into their events and the results prove it.
Congratulations to all athletes but especially the U11 girls team who came first in the obstacle race and in their 4 x 1 lap relay - with text book change overs. Well done.
The next sportshall competition is on Sunday 10th February in Wantage.
It is with sadness that we advise of the death of one of our long standing club members, coaches and officials Alan Woodland, following deteriorating health.

Thank you to those athletes who competed in the first two rounds and to their parents for their support. The next competition is Sunday 13th January 2019 at Witney Leisure Centre. https://oxfordshireathletics.org.uk/sportshall.
The Club always need more Officials. Anyone wanting to attend a beginners officials course (whether that is field official, track judge, time keeper or starter/marksman - please let Kay know ASAP (email@example.com). It's simple, straightforward, free, only requires 4 competition experiences to become qualified and mentoring from Radley Officials is available.
Radley AC will be holding their AGM at Tilsley Park, in the bar area, on Friday 23rd November at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
Further details will be sent to members shortly. Please support the Club.
As you all know, the Abingdon Marathon is organised entirely by volunteers and donates thousands of pounds to charities every year. For every one of our members that volunteers, the Abingdon Marathon will make a donation to our club.
We would love to see some of Radley runners marshalling in Abingdon on 21 October.
Without volunteers this Marathon would not be possible.
