After a 3 week warm weather training in Portugal Kathryn Woodcock was well prepared for the British University Championship in Bedford last weekend. On Sunday Kathryn was faced with blustery cold Bedford weather for the qualifying round of the discus, but managed to qualify with a throw of 46.28m which was well passed the automatic qualifying of 45m. In fact she was the only athlete to make the tough automatic qualifying standard.
This weekend (Sunday) sees the 2017 London Marathon in which Jane Birchenough (Anabel Pozniaks Mum) will run in support of our Club to raise funds for a portable defibrillator.
Jane has trained hard and I'm sure all club members and their families will join me in wishing her luck in completing this gruelling race. Please keep an eye out for on TV too!
Radley AC travelled to Tooting for the first SAL senior fixture of 2017. Having been hit hard with Easter unavailability they rallied to fill as many events as possible and managed to come 2nd to a very strong Windsor Slough and Eton team.
Well done to everyone who took part in the first Oxon league of the season at Horspath. Results are attached.

The weekend of 13-14 May sees this year’s County Athletic Championships at Horspath Track. We would encourage all of our athletes from under 13 upwards to take part in these championships.
This is an opportunity to compete against other athletes from the county as individuals rather than as part of a team. Medals are awarded for top three finishers in all events (subject to sufficient entries).
